The
Championships, Wimbledon, commonly referred to as simply "Wimbledon",
is the oldest event in the sport of tennis. It is typically
regarded as the most important international tennis event.
Held every June and July at the All England Lawn Tennis and
Croquet Club in London, the tournament is the third Grand Slam
event played each year. The tournament lasts for two weeks,
subject to the extensions for rain, and is the only Grand Slam
event currently played on a grass surface.
